Happy Fathers' Day to all you Sunshine Coast Music-playing/loving Dad's out there. Hope you had a good one.
Tonight at Club Envy you can catch The Founds with The Marsden Lees and Birds of Prey from 7pm. Morning Gloree are currently mixing their own EP at the moment. Now THAT is talent. Looking forward to hearing the finished product, and no doubt we'll have a review up for it when it's out.
The Point didn't make it up to Peregian Originals today, due to it pissing down rain in Nambour town and us figuring it would be the same up there... but apparently it went ahead?
This week's Circle of Sounds at Club Envy will feature the likes of Drew Wilson, and Swoon. As always, starts at 7pm and is $4.
Villa Noosa is offering up one more free night of local acts on a Friday night this week, when local heroes, Drawcard come home (apparently these guys have been tearing it up all over the country side on their tour), with Gold Coast's Misdirection, and Tranzluzid. Doors open at 9pm.
The Sunshine Coast Blues Festival is on this coming weekend. Absolutely massive line-up over 3 days and nights at the Nambour Showgrounds. See the Gigs page for details.
Club Envy hosts a whole heap of punk this Friday night with touring acts Grenadiers and Paper Arms (both from South Australia), with support from Firedriver, The Kombi Killers, and Morning Gloree. This is another MIA Entertainment event, and doors open at 7pm.
Love punk? Then you'll love The Kombi Killers and their old school, f*ck you approach punk asthetics.

Evening folks.
Hopefully quite a lot of you will head down to Club Envy tonight to see Rob Stanley, Social Anger and Raise the Fallen support NSW Heavyhitters Dawn Heist, brought to you by MIA Entertainment. It starts at 8pm.
If you didn't go to the Kings Beach Tavern last night, you missed out on a pretty damn good rock spectacle with Rohan from Technical Symplicity farewelling the boys in style by smashing his guitar on stage after their cover of Primus' Winona's Big Brown Beaver. Never fear, as the blog detailing the event will be up soon. Peregian Originals tomorrow, pending weather. If the weather Gods are smiling, you'll be able to catch Tijuana Cartel, The Barleyshakes and more, for free, from 1pm. Tranzluzid will be calling it a day after their Queens of Scream show at Club Envy on September 25. Sad to see this band dissolve.

Coolum Beach Hotel? Yup, Kindread are playing there tonight with Earthworker (Syd), Karazmatic (Syd),
Zenith & All Strings Attached from 9pm. Free entry up till 11pm.
Noticed something that the Peregian Originals posted last night on Facebook. Do some people really think that Nambour Originals is replacing Peregian Originals? As Jay (organiser) said 'it's an extension'. C'mon, folks. They've fought that hard to keep Peregian Originals, as if they would replace it. Peregian Originals is on every 1st and 3rd Sunday. Looks like Nambour Originals will be every 2nd and 4th.
Strawbfest is in full swing, and Lending Her will be hitting the stage at 6pm.
Didn't get to mention this last night, but if you didn't already know, MIA Entertainment, with support from The Point, will be putting on a massive Christmas Party on November 27th at Club Envy. Acts confirmed are: Those Old Soles, The Secret

Alternative Night tonight at Hotel Maroochydore from 8pm with free entry as always. Tonight you'll get the likes of The Marsden Lees, Earthworker (Sydney) and Cory Carlyn. The Marsden Lees have been working on new material, and they definitely impressed The Point the last time we saw them up at Villa Noosa.
Not only do you have a massive gig coming up at Kings Beach Tavern on Friday night (Electric Horse, Helm, Epidemic...Over, and Technical Symplicity), but it's also the return of the massive Diamond Nights at 240V. This month's spectacle will feature Signal the Firing Squad, Infinite Thought Process, Widow the Sea, and The Matador from 9pm.
If punk's more your thing, then head to Club Envy to see touring band Weaponhead, with Lust, The Kombi Killers and Myrtle Place from 8pm.
If you're not already aware of this, but Moshpit Music are closing down. These giants of the Sunshine Coast independant music scene are saying goodbye and thank you by having a massive 50% off sale. It's been going on for about a week, but there's still a few things left if you want to head on in, grab a bargain, and thank the Moshpit Crew. No Mercy Marg have added a few dates to the Gigs page, including a massive All Ages show on Saturday at the QCWA Hall in Caloundra from 6pm. See the Gigs Page for details. The Floating Bridges have announced that they have been added to the huge Valley Fiesta next weekend, with a slot at 5pm on Sunday. If you haven't experience Valley Fiesta before, it's a brilliant experience with a diversity of music on show.
Kyle, drummer for Morning Gloree reports that the boys are recording a 5-track EP over the next few weekends. If going by some of the newer material we've heard, this will be a cracker.

Raise the Fallen for $10 from 8pm. Rivalry have added a few more dates to the Gigs guide as well, including a cool 40 minute acoustic set they'll be doing at Sunshine Plaza on September 30th.
Seems like there's a lot of decent bassists needed for bands at the moment. We know of at least 4 bands that are looking for good bass players. If you're a bass player, or thinking of picking up the bass and have the ability to play, let us know and we'll put you in contact with the right people.
