Club Envy is the new live venue in Maroochydore, with the MASC Live Room putting on live bands weekly, featuring many local acts, as well as touring artists. They also host the weekly Uni nights. It's a very tight-looking venue, with a good vibe and a good sound. We need to support these new venues, as they are supporting the local music scene.

Gandalf the Grey
The distinct sound of high fuzz guitar, raw drums, and smooth bass must mean it's indie rock time. I've only known about these guys for a very short while, and wasn't even aware that none of these guys are of legal age yet. Pretty angsty stuff, with splatterings of Bleach-era Nirvana, and Pixes, mixed with the attitude of the current range of Australian alt/indi bands. These guys are a mature sounding band that will really find a home on the Brisbane circuit as well as here.
The Point will be reviewing their EP in coming months.
Rob Stanley
You know what? I never tire of watching Rob do his thing. Even more, I love watching people see him for the first time. Their reactions of 'oh my god' and 'holy shit! How IS this dude?' is pretty damn priceless.
Rob's shredding tonight, and is ever-so-polite and witty, short banter is always amusing, but he always lets his playing do the majority of the talking. There's a good size crowd in the newer venue that is Club Envy, and the majority in here are Rob Stanley virgins, watching and nodding in awe.
His debut album isn't far off now, folks.
Technical Symplicity
An awesome vibe engulfed Club Envy last night. Everyone seemed to be getting into it and thoroughly enjoying live music the way it should be enjoyed. Tech Sym were up straight after me and got the place rocking. A mosh pit started and it was on for young and old, in a good way.
There was a stage streaker, a guest vocalist from the audience (*it was Cale from The Floating Bridges - Ed) and so much energy blasting forth from the band, it would make Red Bull want to figure out a way to bottle it. Triple A+ for Rohan's enthusiasm on stage, I swear he's going to impale himself on a mic stand or his guitar one day :)
Fantastic meaty guitar riffage and a HUGE throbbing bass combined with tight drumming and vocals with attitude made this set for Technical Simplicity just bloody awesome. Go see them!!!
