Tonight at the SolBar, catch In Land Sea, a huge ten-piece indie folk ensemble, with support from Andrew Redford and Tourism.
Tomorrow night though, kicks off a big weekend of blues and roots with Cleveland Blues and the Red Eye Junction back at the SolBar, with support from WA's The Joe Kings, and The Red Letters.
Then on Saturday night, Palmwoods Pub is putting on a free show featuring The Floating Bridges, with support from the urban myth that is Those Old Soles. That kicks off from 7pm.
Otherwise we'd assume you'd be at SolBar watching Owl Eyes, yeah?
Cafe Envy in Mooloolaba has Forms of Recreation, featuring Cleveland Blues' pocketrocket drummer, Bam Bam.
Tomorrow, also, we celebrate Sahara Beck day, as an 'unofficial' celebration of the coming of her debut album. She'll be at the J in Noosa Junction, opening for Buddha's Moon at 7pm, and will be selling them there.

Tomorrow night at SolBar, check out the showcasing talent from TAFE with acts such as Afterglow, Alert the Pharoh and more performing. The Point will try and get down there for some video interviewingness random behaviour.
Updates from The Floating Bridges have been coming in while they're in the studio recording their first long-player. Roh has sent through photos of the amps being used... almost music porn. Expect tracks like Long Way to Go to sound damn well awesome.
Kindread are also in the studio this week, laying down demos for their follow-up to 'Free World'.
Another Rikochetz Event coming up this Saturday at the QCWA Hall in Nambour, where you All Agers can expect a more heavier punk sound with the likes of Firedriver, Far From Paris, Hack, Surgical Steel and Artificial Red from 7pm for only $10. Nice way to wrap up the school holidays, kids.
Taylor Moss will be launching her EP this Sunday night at the Buderim Tavern with the first of many epic Sunday Sessions coming your way.

Happy 1st Birthday, Nambour Originals! All systems are go for another great session today. The Barleyshakes, The Intrepids, Adam Scriven, and Dan the Man himself all up on show.

The Point caught up with Brad from Messiam yesterday while on location shooting more footage for the Dead Kelly filmclip. He reports that the 'new' line-up is doing well, and Messiam will be recording the follow-up to last year's release soon. In the meantime, they'll be playing the next Rikochetz Event with departing drummer, Jared.
Rumour has it that Spiralsiren have finally secured a drummer to flesh out the line-up. We cannot release details as of yet, but we're not surprised with the choice (and it's a good one.. and no, it's not Licka from DLC.. though that would've been awesome too).

Last night was fun as (eh, bro!) at Open Mic at SolBar. The Editor got up on stage with Open Mic regular, Ahn, as well as legendary barman and LadyThroatKillers MC, Mic AND one of our faves here at The Point, Kudos, for a quick few jams.
Speaking of Kudos, we had a quick chat with the rapidfiretongue maestro about his upcoming release, with word that it's just waiting on finalisation of graphic design work for the cover and then it'll be out.
Another one of our Point faves, Sahara Beck has launched her website. THE Harii Bandhu has been mentoring her and give her guidance with her craft. Go check out www.saharabeck.com and see what we're raving about.

The upcoming Sunday Sessions at Buderim Tavern has a choccas line-up all through October, starting with Taylor Moss' EP launch, but also featuring the likes of Afterglow, Finchington, Rev Sunday, Sahara Beck and more. Go check the Gigs page for more details.
The Roshambos are in the studio tomorrow, with Kindread's Brett in producer role. Looking forward to hearing the results.
Open Mic night tomorrow night at SolBar. We can't stress this enough, this night is getting bigger, and with the warmer weather, more and more musos and music-lovers are coming out of the woodwork to come to this mid-week musicfest.
Kindread are back in the studio next week to record the next single to follow-up Good Vibes and Idealise.
Messiam have a new skinsman... well... the original has returned to replace jarrad, who has had to vacate the chair due to other commitments. Jarrad's last show with Messiam will be at a Rikochetz show on October 15.
Pocketlove (winners of the Original Selections, and thus opening band for the Caloundra Music Festival - coming in the next few weeks) are also heading into the studio. The funksters won the hefty recording package at Heliport Studio.

Looks like it was the perfect day to cap off a major musical weekend with Peregian Originals going off.
A very successful mini-tour down south for Kindread, The Floating Bridges, and Adam Scriven. The Coast was well and truly represented down in Byron/Lennox this weekend.
Coming up this week, Rev Sunday and Sahara Beck at Ric's Bar in Brisbane on Tuesday night, with Kindread and Dollarbird there on Friday night.
Metal fans, head up to Gympie this weekend for What She Deserves' EP Launch, with support from Asteya, Perfect Imperfections, and Dead and Southbound.
Speaking of Dead and Southband, the band are looking for a permanent bassist and second guitarist. They've left an add on the Point's facebook page, but also check the Wanted page for details.

Happy Birthday to the lovely Deb (from Circle of Sounds). The Point will be joining Deb at Cafe Envy this afternoon in Mooloolaba to help celebrate her birthday, along with other like-minded musicians and music-lovers. Entertainment by the awesome Sahara Beck, and other random performances from well-know Coast muso's.
Kings Beach Tavern is hosting Floating Me tonight. Fresh from their Brisbane show, this band (featuring members of Scarymother, plus Jon Stockman from Karnivool and the legendary Lucius Borich from COG) will tear Caloundra a new bott bott hole, with support from Rivalry and more. Definitely a show not to miss.
Coast bands are doing us proud at Big Sound right now. The Floating Bridges played a massive set at the Elephant & Wheelbarrow, securing two shows at Valley Fiesta and shmoozing with the likes of Dubmarine and JJJ's Roots'n'All's Sarah Howell.
Drawcard, Stryder, The Secret Whisper... they're some of the other acts killing it during this massive music conference.
The Point Sunshine Coast is proud of you guys... but remember to bring us back something cool.
SolBar tonight will feature Glenn Richards (Augie March) and Dan Luscombe (The Drones) for a huge musicfest featuring Australian Modern Rock royalty.
The Point got chatting to Mr Brett Orr at Bonjah's show on Wednesday night to check on the progress of the album.. and it's on its way folks. Date has been confirmed for an album launch in November at SolBar, and he's even managed to secure Resin Dog's DJ Katch, as well as locals Outlook and Kudos and more. The album, 'Foundations' will feature Brett's magical 21st Century Soul stylings.
We're, for one, are f*cking amping to hear this.

Open Mic night shifts to Thursday this week at SolBar, as the boys from Bonjah invade the Coast this Wednesday. That will be one massive mid-week musical treat. Pre-sale tickets are $15, and it will be $20 on the door.
Big Sound starts this week, and we're already aware of some Coast muso's heading down for the massive conference. Tell us your experiences.. share them on the Facebook page so we can live vicariously through you (because we're too damn broke to go to the event).
The Point got all punkified last Friday night and finally saw Phantom Lighter Thieves, Dementia 13, and Spitfire Liar at KBT. The bands were awesome, and it was an interesting night having plenty of 6 degrees of separation moments. Go check out the blog.
We're heading to Cafe Envy this Friday night to help celebrate one of our favourite people's birthdays. The beautiful Deb (Circle of Sounds) is celebrating her birthday and wants to be surrounded by all of her musician friends. How can we say no? The Pig'n'Whistle is hosting a fantastic Breast Cancer Foundation fundraiser featuring Carl Wockner, MC Wheels, All Strings Attached and more.. and it's on right now.
Peregian Originals this Sunday will be massive with The Floating Bridges headlining... and even better an after Party at Zachary's in Peregian courtesy of the Bump DJs as they farewell Mikey.

Spuhring is here! That means warmer nights, less clothing, and plenty of sweating to some awesome live music coming your way.
Tonight at SolBar, the magical, mystical, The Firetree are back, with support from The Flumes and Rev Sunday. We keep seeing different admission costs... doesn't matter, just go and witness some truly stunning musicians do their thing (plus Sue Anne in the front bar, who is awesome as always).
Tomorrow night, The Point crew splits to go into different venues. Some will be at SolBar for Wild Marmalade and The Mank, while others will be at Kings Beach Tavern getting their punk on with Spitfire Liar, Dementia 13 and Phantom Lighter Thieves.
