Rev Sunday

Acoustic Rock/Indie/Roots

Rev Sunday are a 3 Piece band from the Sunshine Coast playing a mixture of Acoustic Rock/Indie/Roots tunes. Christian Patey, (Guitar, Vocals) Michael Campbell (Drums) and Ryan Browne (Bass) have known each other for 15 years, meeting as school boys and becoming friends when they found they shared a passion for great music, surfing and having a good time.

Rev Sunday formed from their mutual love of playing original music. They are all passionate musicians and enjoy nothing better than jamming together creating new sounds. Their major influences have been Vampire Weekend, Boy and Bear, The Wavves, Architecture In Helsinki, E-town Concrete, Pendulum, Voodoo Glow Skulls, and each of the guys has played in many bands across various genres.

Rev Sunday’s music has evolved significantly since the guys started playing together, with all members bringing their own style, experience and creative flair to the table. The guys, growing in their identity as a band, are experimenting more and more which they say is paying off in their writing tenfold. In the past, all song lyrics and music have been written by Christian, with the music first conceptualized on his acoustic guitar and brought to life later with lyrics. More recently the band have started to write together, their songs a mixture of experiences, a recurring theme of self-drive, and love songs that are all intended to get people to want to let go, feel good and dance.

The guys love live gigs and you can catch them playing at The Kings Beach Tavern Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, a personal favourite of the band, is The Beach Hotel in Byron, which they love for its cool vibe and great sound. Last year they also performed at the ASP Surfing Awards at the Gold Coast Convention Centre and the Barney Millers Charity Gala Ball, were featured in surfing magazine "Tracks", and played on local radio stations across the Sunshine Coast.

Rev Sunday say one of the biggest challenges for them is the lack of live venues on the Sunshine Coast, and are very much looking forward to getting out on the road and promoting their upcoming EP.
