The name may have come from nowhere, but the band Navaho Joe is known everywhere from Bundaberg to Byron Bay, Lismore and even some towns out west.
Formed in 2005, the band perfected its sound and image before hitting the gig scene big time. Jase blows everyone away with his Gretsch & Epiphone guitars, vocal range and original sound; Adz’s full-sounding bass technique is awesome as are his backing vocals; and Braydz brings it all together with his phenomenal drumming style and backing vocals.
Originally Navaho Joe played newer, post-2000 modern alternative rock with the emphasis on the set-lists featuring fun, trashy guitar songs. “Now with the feedback we’re getting from followers and venues, we have set-lists that go from start to finish with songs that most other bands aren't playing, yet punters know nearly every song,” says spokesperson Jase. “In the main these are still mostly post-2000.
“Expect songs from - Kings of Leon, The Strokes, Living End, Greenday, Arctic Monkeys, Jet, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and even a few wierdos from Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton. For the 80’s crew there's The Doors, AC/DC, and of course Cold Chisel.”
The hard working band is solidly booked for months in advance and although the lads have a fat time heading off in the touring van for weekends away, favourite gigs are definitely those close to home on the Sunshine Coast. “We love performing at Coolum, Mooloolaba, Noosa, Cooroy, Pomona and Gympie, because wherever we go there’s a following of familiar faces that we always have fun with. It’s a huge buzz when the venues are packed with everyone going off on the dance floor. The energy is unexplainable.”
