Elisha Sando
Songwriter. Composer. Arranger. Performer. Lyricist. Singer. Multi-instrumentalist.
Born into a highly musical family, Elisha first hit the stage and performed publicly, singing at the tender age of 8.
A proficient multi-instrumentalist, Elisha is very competent with the guitar, piano and flute, but it is her voice that demands your attention.
Elisha has been recording her original compositions since she was 15 years of age, continuing on to release two albums with highly-acclaimed Sunshine Coast band, Ionesco, then stepping out on her own in 2004 to release a solo EP.
A professional soloist for a number of years, Elisha has performed in numerous restaurants, cafes, hotels, resorts and private functions (including year-long residencies at several venues such as Twin Waters Resort, Alex Hotel, and more).
In the last five years, Elisha has focused more on the composition side of her talents, having composed and orchestrated/arranged a full-length opera (‘Charlotte’ in 2008), as well as a plethora of classical works.
In fact, Elisha’s composition skills have not gone largely unnoticed, having won several competitions for composing, as well as being shortlisted in the Top 100 for Nescafe’s Big Break 2007, and ranking inside the Top 13 of APRA’s National Personal Development Awards (PDAs) for classical composition in 2008.
All this under her belt, and she has never formally studied music.
Elisha’s most prominent strength is her versatility, with her being able to adapt to (and combine) many different genres.
Having many influences that inspire and shape her music, Elisha lists Pop, Indie Electronica, Jazz, Folk/Acoustic, Progressive Rock and Classical as the main areas of concern.
In the very near future, Elisha plans to focus on composing soundtracks for film and television, and is currently involved in at least three separate music projects.
